Make sure to regularly upgrade equipment, especially when stuck on challenging stages. Stronger items are vital for progression, available through loot drops or by purchasing with premium diamonds. At its core, Dungeon Slayer is about the puzzle-like challenge of plotting tactical movement routes. The path you chart makes all the difference between victory and defeat. Some may draw comparisons to other mobile titles like Pocoron Dungeons because of the route-tracing. However, Dungeon Slayer truly stands on its own as an original simulation RPG. However, the same goes for enemy turns. If your units are bunched together, they can all suffer repeated attacks along the foe's movement path. Proper positioning and formation is critical. Sometimes keeping allies together boosts defense with adjacent support bonuses. Other times, spreading out reduces area attacks. Evaluate enemy placement and strengths to determine the best tactic.
In crowded battles, clustered units defend better but risk mass damage. Spread formations reduce assaults but leave isolated allies vulnerable. Assessing the situation to pick the right approach is key. If you can minimize damage taken, recovery skills activate by contacting allies, making close formations viable. With the right monster matchups, they also utilize area attacks well. However, dispersion can also allow damaged allies to retreat and replacements to hold the front line. There is no single superior tactic - you must analyze enemy composition and layout to make the optimal call.
